The Importance of Advocacy

SECAC’s advocacy is essential to ensuring that the voices of students with disabilities and their families are heard county or state-wide. Through collaboration with FCPS, the Board of Education, and community leaders, Frederick County SECAC works to influence policies, improve services, address challenges, and promote equitable educational opportunities for all students with disabilities.

Advocating for the health, safety, stability, educational well-being, and continuity of essential services for students with developmental disabilities and their families to address Medicaid waiver eligibility, enrollment, and reimbursement issues.
